County Guidelines for Public Meetings in Council Chambers
County Boards and Commissions have begun to meet again in the Council Chambers for in-person meetings. Members of the public are allowed to attend these meetings in-person. In consultation with the St. Joseph County Department of Health, for the health and safety of all meeting attendees, the following protocols will be in effect until further notice:
Face coverings will be required for all attendees
Seating in the Council Chambers will be limited to promote proper physical distancing. Overflow seating, with streamed audio from the Chambers, will be available
Attendees are encouraged to be mindful of the entire agenda, and not go into the Council Chambers until closer to when the agenda item(s) they are interested in are being discussed
Anyone who attends a public meeting, and wishes to provide comment either during a public hearing on an item, or during Privilege of the Floor, will be able to do so
Remote meeting options will also be used until the Governor’s Executive Order permitting such accommodations is no longer in effect. The Board of Commissioners appreciates the public’s understanding, compliance, and patience as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times.
