Recipes, Etc.

Here is a special recipe of my friend, Tammy’s. It is a real crowd pleaser and oh so easy to prepare.

Tammy’s Tamale Squares "TT's"

Combine: 3/4 cup of cornmeal 3/4 cup flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt

Combine: 3/4 cup milk 3 T. melted margarine

Beat above mixtures together until smooth. Pour into an 8-inch greased square baking dish.

Sauté 1/2 to 3/4 cup of green pepper, along with 1/2 cup of sliced onion and add 2 lbs. ground beef; brown and drain.

Mix together and add to ground beef mixture: 1 16 oz. Cheez Whiz 1 cup chopped tomato 1 T. Chili powder

Spoon meat mixture over batter. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Top with extra cheese a few more chopped tomatoes and bake 5 minutes longer. Remove from oven and cut into squares.

Etc. — Try using an old fashioned cast iron skillet for this recipe. The cornmeal batter will be a bit crisper. Also, since ground beef is sort of outrageous in cost, you can use 1 lb. of ground beef and only 8 oz. Cheez Whiz. All other ingredients are the same. Have fun and enjoy! Thanks, Tammy, for sharing this recipe :)
