Moonlight Mystery offers unique opportunities
Bendix Woods County Park in New Carlisle, Indiana, is hosting its annual fall special event on Saturday, October 5 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Visitors can follow a luminaire-lit trail to solve the mystery of “Who Scared Mr. Forrest?” Along the trails, learn about nocturnal animals and their amazing adaptations to night life.
Meet live animals up close, investigate raccoon furs and bat skeletons, make an owl mask or a fox-ear headband, play the sticky spiderweb game and explore the prairie StoryWalk.
Hop on the tractor-pulled hay wagon to get around the park, play on the playground and visit the Discovery Room in the Nature Center!
The Friends of Bendix Woods and Spicer Lake will sell hot dogs and s’mores (with a campfire available for roasting), as well as other snacks and beverages, with proceeds benefiting park programs.
Visitors should bring a flashlight or headlamp for hiking on the trails.
