The Busy Band Buzz: Blue Debut 2019
Once again, the New Prairie Marching Cougars will hold their Blue Debut event at Amzie Miller Field. This year’s debut performance will be Saturday August 24. This event will again start with a family and community picnic followed by the performance of the 2019 Marching Cougars.
After the successful 2018 season ending at ISSMA State Semi-Finals, we are anticipating another record setting season.
This year not only includes a debut of the 2019 competitive show, but also a look at the pregame show for football season, as well as our new uniforms and spirit wear t-shirt design.
Yes, we will have our new uniforms for this fall season and are planning to unveil our new sharp look at the Blue Debut. We cannot express how grateful and fortunate we are to have a community show such support for our music program.
Without the support and monetary donations of the entire New Prairie community, we would not have been able to purchase these new uniforms. We are also so fortunate to have a school which supports the arts, and our music program, and so graciously covered half of the cost of these new uniforms.
This year’s competitive show is simply titled “Flux.” The concept of the show is the constant changing and moving forward of “life.” To portray this concept visually on the field, the band will use music and movement themed from the flow and movement of bodies of water. Similar to the way rivers, lakes and streams change and flow, so does music, and so does one’s life.
The Marching Cougars will perform the parts of the show which they have learned during the band camp days and after school practices.
The 2019 New Prairie Marching Cougars Blue Debut will be Saturday August 24 at the New Prairie High School football field. The meal will start at 4:30 p.m. school time and the performance will begin at 6:00 p.m. school time. The cost is $5 per person for the meal.
The Band Boosters will also have memorabilia and t-shirts for sale. We also plan to take orders for a newly designed NP Band shirt. Please come out and see the results from these kids hard work and show them your continued support.
