St. Joseph County 4-H has a 10-Year Scholarship Recognition Program. There were four Olive Township 4-H members who achieved this goal.
One of the 4-H 10-year members is Cheyanne Weiland. She is a graduate of New Prairie High and will be attending Indiana University South Bend this fall, majoring in nutrition.
Her favorite part about being in 4-H was the feeling of always being included in the horse and pony projects. All of the hard work and hours of clean up and volunteering all came together during fair week.
She will always have the memories and determination from her years in 4-H ... and for that she is very grateful. Here is Cheyanne’s favorite recipe.
Breakfast Tofu Scramble
1⁄2 cup mushrooms
1⁄2 cup onion
1⁄2 cup red bell pepper
1 handful spinach
1 package extra firm tofu
1 tsp nutritional yeast
1/4 tsp sea salt
2 tsp ground turmeric
Drain water from tofu, crumble with hands and set aside. Sauté onion, red pepper and mushrooms in 2 Tbs of water 3-4 minutes. Add crumbled tofu to veggies, along with nutritional yeast, sea salt and ground turmeric, sauté for 3 minutes. Add spinach and cover with a lid for two minutes. Stir and enjoy!
Etc. — Along with Cheyanne, the following Olive Township 4-H members have achieved their 10-year goal: Broc Boniface, Aaron Mrozinski, and Cody Sebasty. Congratulations to all!
