It’s right around the corner! The St. Joseph County 4-H Fair will take place June 28 - July 6, 2019 and adults and preschoolers have the opportunity to exhibit at the fair.
Open Class is for anyone age 18 and older and not eligible for 4-H. Little Hands is for preschool age children (ages 3-5) and not yet in Kindergarten. Participants do not have to live in St. Joseph County (IN).
Children entering exhibits in Little Hands can make anything. Some ideas include painting a picture, making a paper chain, taking a photo and put on a matte board or in a frame, making a simple bird feeder, or creating a dough or clay sculpture.
Open Class for adults offers fourteen different categories for exhibits to be entered. Some of the categories include baking, woodworking, photography, gardening, quilting, antiques (called American Heritage), and needle craft.
One expanded category for this year is Holidays at the Fair. Any holiday or theme can be represented in an ornament, tree skirt, table runner or placemat(s), stocking, wreath, table centerpiece, or a decorated, artificial tree. Prizes are awarded to the Best of Show in each category.
