6th Annual ACOA Spring Art & Craft Show


If you’re looking for that one-of-a-kind item for your home or that perfect gift for Mother’s Day, you won’t want to miss this event.

This show is a fundraiser for the Swanson Activity Center for Older Adults in LaPorte, and it will feature over 50 vendors.

This year it is being held at the LaPorte County Fairgrounds on State Rd. 2 on Saturday, May 4, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (CDT). All booths are inside two modern, handicapped accessible buildings.

Artists and crafters from Indiana and Michigan will be showcasing their unique, hand-crafted merchandise. If you’re looking for something for the yard or patio; check out the bird baths and feeders, stepping stones, sculpted stoneware, ceramic yard art, and decorated wood signs.

If you want to spruce up your inside home décor; you’ll find original paintings and photography, baskets, wall hangings, glassware, clocks, coasters, wooden bowls and pressed flower artwork. Shoppers also will find a large variety of hand sewn accessories for adults, children and pets.

Come early and enjoy a cup of coffee and dessert before you shop or stay afterward for lunch. Parking and entry are free. For more information, call 219-326-5354.

Fall show seeks vendors Attention artists and crafters. The United Methodist Women (UMW) from the LaPorte First United Methodist Church will be holding their 6th annual Arts & Crafts Show on September 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (CDT). This event is held inside three buildings at the La Porte County Fairgrounds and features over 100 artists and crafters from Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

The popularity of this event has rapidly grown over the years, and word of this show extends well beyond the La Porte County communities.
