I write this article following the Parade of Lights in New Carlisle. This wonderful festival has grown significantly since we first participated in it. For those who don’t know, we participate in this parade just as we do in the summer, pushing grocery carts to collect non-perishable food items for the Community Food Pantry of New Carlisle. I am again amazed at the outpouring of love in this community. We filled four grocery carts full of donations! Thank you to all who helped and all who gave.
We enter into Advent, a season of preparation and expectation. What are you preparing for? What are you expecting? I trust you are preparing and expecting to have your heart changed by God, as you receive the gift of his son into your life again. With all the busy-ness that happens this time of year, remember to be thankful for how God has blessed you. Remember to extend the grace afforded us by Jesus Christ to others as well.
Our Sunday worship services start at 10:00am EST. Our doors are open to all. If you have a church please attend it during this holy season, if not please consider coming to the United Methodist Church of New Carlisle and help us welcome the Baby Jesus into your life.
Christmas Eve we will have our candlelight service that starts at 6:00pm EST. Our children will present “Just A Little Christmas.” This is a beautiful service. Hope to see you here.
And last but not least we will have two visitors from the North Pole come to visit on December 15, 2018 at 6:00pm EST. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be here to great and eat with the children. We will have a meal for everyone who would like to attend.
Be blessed and be a blessing.
The United Methodist Church of New Carlisle is located at 300 Compton Street in New Carlisle.
