This special and easy recipe of bon-bons can be given out as gifts or served at family gatherings… or, cookie swap treat.

Mrs. Claus’ Chocolate Bon-Bons

1 cup graham cracker crumbs

1 6 oz pkg powdered sugar

1 cup sweetened flaked coconut

1cup ground walnuts (optional)

1 cup margarine, softened

1 ½ cup creamy peanut butter

12 oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 T. shortening

In a large bowl, combine cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and coconut. Add margarine and peanut butter; and ground walnuts (if you choose to use in this recipe) mix well. Roll mixture into walnut-size balls. Place balls on wax paper; refrigerate until ready to dip in chocolate. Melt chocolate chips with shortening in the top of a double boiler over hot water. Stir until chocolate is melted and smooth. With a fork, dip bon-bons into chocolate, one at a time, coating well. Remove bon-bons to a sheet of wax paper; return to refrigerator until firm. Makes 4 dozen.

Etc. - Homemade candy is always a welcome gift! Make the gift even prettier by placing individual candies in mini paper muffin cups and arrange in a decorated box.
