For many people, pets are a great source of comfort and companionship. St. Francis of Assisi is known as the Patron Saint of Animals and the environment.
On July 8th, the United Methodist Church of New Carlisle will celebrate worship outdoors with a service that will include blessing of pets. The whole community is invited to bring their lawn chairs and their pets.
Pastor Kal conducted a similar service several years ago and has been requested to celebrate pets once again. All pets, large and small, are welcome. All that is asked is that the owner help provide a safe environment for pets of all types. Leashes and carriers are strongly encouraged. Water bowls will be provided as the weather is expected to be hot.
Our service begins at 10:00am (Eastern time) and will be on the lawn on the Dunn Road side of the church.
We will celebrate surrounded by creation while hosting some of God’s most joyful creations, our pets. So bring your lawn chairs and your pets and come celebrate with us. (Note, if it rains on Sunday morning July 8th, the Pet Service will be canceled.)
Don’t forget to look for us DURING the Hometown Days parade. We will be pushing grocery carts collecting non-perishable food items for the Community Food Pantry of New Carlisle.
The United Methodist Church of New Carlisle is located 300 Compton Street in New Carlisle (the corner of Compton and Race Street).
