Summer Happenings at New Carlisle United Methodist Church
Much is happening this summer around the United Methodist Church of New Carlisle.
Our community garden is planted. Much gratitude to the Environmental Club of New Prairie High School for their assistance in growing plants to place in, as well as helping to plant the garden.
In a matter of weeks there will be a vegetable stand in front of the church for ripe produce. The community is welcome to harvest right from the garden as well. There is a small patch of blueberry bushes and a raised bed for strawberries next that are part of the garden plot as well.
We will be present at Taste of New Carlisle again this year. All proceeds that we collect will be donated to the New Carlisle Community Food Pantry.
We will again be part of the Hometown Days parade, pushing grocery carts lent to us by Joe’s Grocery. The purpose is to collect non-perishable food items that are also donated to the New Carlisle Community Food Pantry. The community has been awesome in supporting this endeavor for several years now. Our goal is to fill the back of the vehicle we use during the parade - at least six grocery carts full.
Our food booth will again be near the back of Memorial Park during Hometown Days. We partner with the New Prairie High School band as a fundraiser for them and the church. Come and see us and show your support for their program.
Vacation Bible School will be June 30th and July 1st. Polar Blast is the theme. It will run from 4 to 6 p.m. (town time). As in past years, we include a meal both days. There is no charge to participate. For more information and to sign-up visit https://vbspro.events/p/events/ncumc.
In August, look for us when you enjoy the weekly music in the park. We like to engage with the community by providing popcorn and bottled water free of charge while enjoying some local talent performing each week. When you see us around town, ask how we are fulfilling our vision: Community, Compassion, Christ. Be blessed and be a blessing.
