Ann Dougherty Wolfe, 90, from New Carlisle, Indiana died peacefully on March 21, 2018 in her apartment at Hamilton Grove. She was born in Monroe, Louisiana on August 7, 1927.
Her early years were spent in Poplar Bluff and Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Beloit College in Wisconsin where she met Edwin John Carlson, Jr. They married in 1950 and raised 2 daughters on the shores of Lake Michigan in Indiana.
Later Ann married Walter Wolfe and built a home in Rolling Prairie where they lived for years. During this time Ann enjoyed working at Watson’s Collectibles and at the New Carlisle newspaper, formerly called The Trail.
Ann was elegant and always fashionably dressed. She was an accomplished watercolorist and pianist. She enjoyed interior decorating and used her talents in her homes and at Watsons.
Ann is survived by her daughters Amy Susan (Timothy) Kredlo and Nancy Carlson (Gregory) Cox, two grandchildren Ryan Edwin Cox and Grady Carlson Cox, and five step children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents Charles and Ita (Upton) Dougherty, and brother Charles (Patricia) Dougherty.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Hamilton Grove for their loving care.
Ann will be dearly missed and remembered for being optimistic and finding positive qualities in others.
