Safety concerns lead to four-way stops
At their meeting on November 14, the New Carlisle Town Council unanimously passed an ordinance to create two more four-way stops in town. Last week, the signs were installed by the town crew.
Citing decreased visibility from parked cars, the Council added stop signs on Arch Street at its intersection with Chestnut Street. The busy downtown intersection is home to Chestnut Corners and The Black Cat.
Additionally, stop signs were added to the intersection of Bray and Dunn to protect the safety of pedestrians. Just south of the elementary school and library, the area sees a high volume of pedestrian traffic, particularly children.
