Rocket football caps undefeated season

This team, the New Prairie Cougars Minor Rocket Football Team, traveled to Lucas Oil Stadium on November 5th, 2017 to participate in the inaugural Lucas Oil Red Zone Games.

This event had teams from all over the Midwest in different age groups who competed in several 10 minute games in “the red zone” allowing each team to play both on offense and defense for at least two series.

The New Prairie Cougars Rocket Football team was comprised of kids from 2nd grade to 5th grade.

During the regular season here, they participated in the Lakeshore Rocket Football program playing teams from Southwest Michigan where they went undefeated. They also won all five games at the Red Zone Games making them the only team in their bracket to do so.

They scored nine touchdowns in the five games played. Scoring touchdowns for the New Prairie Team included Trenton Mamazza, Josh Jaracz, Xander Freeman and Reed Robinson. This was due to outstanding efforts on both the offensive and defensive lines! A true team effort! The players played on the actual NFL field utilizing half field for games.
