Reserve a Hayride Now at Bendix Woods County Park or Check out one of the Public Hayrides

Reservations for two-hour day or evening private party hayrides are available Wednesday - Sunday, end of September through November 4th.

 
Beginning times are 1pm, 3:30pm, 6pm or 8:30pm.  


The fee for private party hayrides is $110.00 for up to 80 people.  The fee includes tractor-drawn hayrides and a campfire at the hayride site.

 
A picnic shelter or building is NOT included. However, on a limited basis, and with an additional fee, you can rent a nearby shelter or building.


Hayride reservation packet may be printed off the St. Joseph County Park’s website or request by mail by calling 574/654-3155. 


Once you complete the hayride reservation packet, you may return it with payment in the mail to: St. Joseph County Parks, Hayride Reservations, 32132 SR 2, New Carlisle, IN 46552. 


Reservations are confirmed only when payment is received.

Make your Own Scarecrow 
Bendix Woods County Park:  Van Paris Shelter

Fee:  $25/ up to family of 4, $2 per additional family member
Welcome the fall season with a hayride and build your own scarecrow!  Scarecrow materials will be provided, but you may bring your own unique outfits, hats and accessories (one scarecrow per family).  Enjoy a campfire and s’mores, too! Registration and payment are required by Sept. 27. To register call, 574/654-3155.

HallowLantern Hayride
Bendix Woods County Park: Van Paris Shelter

Fee: $15/ up to family of 4, $2 per additional family member
Halloween is just around the corner, and the time is ripe for carving pumpkins! Join us for a hayride into the woods where families can carve a Jack-O’-Lantern. Learn the spooky origins of this Halloween craft as you carve and enjoy a campfire treat. One pumpkin per family. Registration and payment are required by October 16. Family Passport to Play: S’more Fun

Free

Tail Waggin’ Hayride
Bendix Woods County Park: Otahnagon Area
1 to 4pm                     
Fee: $3/person and donated pet items
Bring your dog for a tractor-drawn hayride through the crisp autumn air. Light refreshments for dogs and owners are available for purchase. 
Pet-related donations aid Pets Connect! Pets must be on a 6-foot leash. Pet costumes welcome.

 

Nature Journaling
Learn the basics of starting your own nature journal. A Beginner’s Nature Journaling program will be held on October 22, 2017, from 9:30am to noon, in the Nature Center at Bendix Woods County Park. 


Nature journaling can be a fun family activity or a calming time alone in nature. No prior experience or drawing talent necessary. Put down the electronics and join us to see what’s happening outdoors. Participants will make and decorate a journal to take home. 


The program is appropriate for ages 10 to adult. Fee is $5/person. Registration and payment are required by October 18th at 574/654-3155. Space is limited.


The main entrance of Bendix Woods County Park is located on Timothy Road, just off of State Road 2, 8 miles west of the U.S. 31 bypass.
