God is concerned and even passionate about many things according to the Bible.
Yet in the midst of the things that concerns God most about the people He created, there is one big thing that rises above them all - and that is OUR HEARTS!
And this makes total sense because the One who loves us most and knows us best also knows that whatever fills and overflows our hearts will be the determining factor in the quality of our lives on earth!
Look at the various translations below of this powerful verse in Proverbs 4:23:
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (NIV)
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (NLT)
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.” (New American Standard)
“Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.” (King James)
What’s going on in your heart today? What fills your heart? Inspires your heart? Weighs on your heart? Directs and guides your heart?
Are you feeling the weight of the world and lost in the burdens, sadness and brokenness of life? Are you walking free and whole and strong?
We can fool ourselves and others but we can never put on a smile and fool God!
He sees the secret scars, the secret pain and all the issues inside of you and me (for better or for worse), God sees with precision vision!
And thank God He does because there is No One who can do more for our hearts than Him! Only He has the power and the love to transform our hearts and set us on the path of freedom!
