When God looks over the earth for potential leaders, He is certainly not looking for perfect people because there are none.
So what is God really looking for? He is searching for ordinary people like you and me. He is also looking for people who share the same qualities that He found in David and other men and women in the Bible. 1 Samuel 13:14 says that God is looking for men and women “after His own heart.”
What does this look like to be a person after God’s own heart? It means a variety of things. Just like a beautiful, multi-faceted, multi-dimensional diamond ring, there are many angles and attributes to the portrait of a man or woman after God’s own heart. Yet at the center of it is that this kind of heart desires to live life in harmony with God.
The Bible tells us that a man or woman after God’s heart will become deeply sensitive to the spiritual priorities of God.
In Second Chronicles 16:9, we read these powerful words: “For the eyes of the LORD run and move to and fro throughout the earth so that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” There could never be a more powerful and dynamic thing in your life or mine than for us to become people who are truly men and women after God’s own heart!
Beginning Sunday, September 3, we will begin a teaching series called “After God’s Own Heart” and these Sunday messages will uncover the various dimensions of what it looks like to cultivate a beautiful, powerful heart for God.
This teaching series will run through the Fall 2017 from September through November 2017 during our 10:00am Worship Service at Olive Chapel Church.
This Fall 2017 can be a fresh new season for YOU in your life to be in harmony with your Maker like never before so that you can also experience His strong support and power in your life like never before!
