Library Director Retires

Lisa Baiz and her husband Alex have lived in Indiana all of their lives. Now, with Alex’s recent retirement from Lowe’s, both are ready for a new adventure!

Lisa grew up in Crown Point and lived there for 30 years. She and Alex have three grown children and three grandkids. Six cats and two dogs have joined the family over the years and will soon travel to a new home with their “parents ” in Hemet, CA.

Head Librarian for three plus years at the New Carlisle Public Library, Lisa has been supervising 18 staff personnel; seven are full-time employees.

Previously, Lisa was employed at Notre Dame in the Hesburgh Library. She was also the Manager of Mishawaka’s Bittersweet Branch Library before moving to the New Carlisle Library.

During the interim search for a new librarian at the New Carlisle Library, Amy Schrock will serve as the interim director.

The outstanding and beautiful New Carlisle Olive Township Public Library was built in 2002 and is located at 408 South Bray Street.

The library hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 9 am to 8 pm; Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm. On Sundays from Labor Day to Memorial Day, the hours are from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Best wishes and safe travels to Lisa and family!
