Still Open for Business!
Gorgeous Spring! Trees are amazing! Sky is magnificent! And, for the first time in memory there is no through traffic going east on US 20 for now. Why? Apparently a railroad problem has caused our roadwork with the viaduct to come to an inconvenient halt!
Still — it’s always delightful to come downtown to lunch or dine and socialize at one of our local eateries––Black Cat Bar & Grill, Harvest Tap, LongShots Bar & Grill, Miller’s Home Café, Moser’s Austrian Café, Carlisle Coffee & Sweets, and the New Age Baking Company!
To enjoy Kate O’Connor’s Irish Pub, or our American Legion Post 297, you can put them on your agenda when you shop at Groceries by Joe, get a car wash at Longboard's, all while on the east side of the viaduct.
While in downtown NC, there’s the fun of browsing and shopping at Sutton’s Village Shoppes & The Collection, or at Feeney’s Hometown Goods, a unique gift shop that includes the work of many local artisans such as Three Sister’s Apothecary and The Potter’s Wife.
For sure we can always use something from Charles Mares True Value Hardware. Also close by is Century Link, Michiana Insurance, Homefront Mortgage, Robinson Financial Advisor, Midwest Hearing System, 1st Choice Realty Group, Yarn and More, M&M Tax Service, Black Dog CPA, and Zahl's Elevator and Feed Mill.
Also, while in town, what could be more convenient than plan by appointment to have your car repaired or oil changed at Garoutte’s Auto & Truck Center, discuss insurance with Mike Van Lue at Barnhart Insurance Agency, have your teeth cleaned at Dr. Huyvaert & Dr. Wiesjahn’s dental office, pay your town bill at the Town Hall, or do your banking at Wells Fargo. And, Chestnut Corner Hair & Tanning just happens to be across the street from Black Cat.
On the west end of town, you can also enjoy dining at The Diner, Manny’s Restaurant or The Billy Goat Nine & Dine. Nearby on Michigan Street is Tom’s Auto Service, Leo’s Barber Shop, and Tranquility Massage, Facials, and Waxing. Also, H&R Block Tax Service, Spin City Laundry, John’s Liquor Store, Sweet Revenge BBQ Company, and Cougars Palace Ice Cream.
Continuing west on down Michigan Street is Andy’s Furniture along with Carpeting & Flooring. Dollar General is handy dandy, along with 1st Source Bank, and CVS Drugstore & Pharmacy. Two gas stations are also convenient, Phillips 66 and Marathon.
New Carlisle Family Medicine is located on the southwest corner of US 20 & County Line Road. There is also a large exercise facility in the back of the same building. Eye Care Associates of Indiana is in the next building to the west, as is the South Bend Clinic.
Also, on the west end of town is the New Carlisle Animal Clinic, Integra Mold & Machine, Inc., Best Lil Car Wash, Marbach-Palm Engineering & Surveying, and Store More U-Lock for storage items.
All of the above businesses are mostly on the main street or highway through town. As with most towns there are a few other businesses that are not on the main street.
As always, we can be grateful to have such capable members of our community serving on our New Carlisle Ambulance, Fire, and Police Departments. Please keep them in your prayers. They are called upon a lot lately.
