Trivia Night Fundraiser a Big Success!

Hometown Days hosted another successful Trivia Night fundraiser on Saturday, May 6 at the American Legion Post 297 in New Carlisle.

In the end, Table 3 outsmarted the field of 13 teams, correctly answering 83 out of the 100 questions. Categories ranged from geography to identifying television sitcoms based on pictures of empty living rooms.

Perhaps the most challenging question of the night was, "How many state capitals are further west than Los Angeles?" (The answer is located on page 8.)

The winning team consisted of Brandon and Jenny Coleman, Cara Keck, Jason Keough, Ashley Kocsis, Sara and Shane Montgomery, Aaron and Ali Renz, and Sunny Sampson. They generously donated their prize money back to the Hometown Days committee.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the 13th annual festival this summer, including the fireworks, musical entertainment, and other activities around town.

The 2017 festival will be held Friday, July 28 through Sunday, July 30 in Memorial Park.

The Hometown Days committee would like to extend special thanks to: trivia host Ken Peterson, Larry and Julie Brown at the American Legion, and Dr. Martin Langhofer.

Hometown Days also appreciates the contributors to the piggy raffle: American Legion Post 297, Angie Jaybar/Barn Style Antiques, Billy Goat 9 & Dine, CD&ME, David Freet, Gaddis Construction, Hamilton Grove, Kaleigh and Richard Stradtner, New Carlisle United Methodist Church, Red Hen Turf Farm, Richards Building Supply, The Village Shoppes, Traci Gaddis/Paparazzi, and UPS.
