Located on a small hill, on the edge of several communities, at 6655 E 1000 N, sits Maple Grove United Methodist Church, a steadfast part of the community which will celebrate a 150 year anniversary next year.
On the grounds is Maple Grove Community park. It is a welcoming spot complete with playground equipment and picnic tables. The park is a great place to bring a lunch and let your children play. It is open until dusk each day.
This year we would like to invite you to bring your children for an Easter Egg hunt in the park followed by activities which will give the kids an idea of what took place that first Holy week.
They will have the opportunity to wave palms, hear about the last supper, make a paper cross without scissors and make and bake their own ‘resurrection cookie’.
All explanations will be child friendly and no fear of proselytizing.
This event is best suited for children infant through 11 years of age. Older children are welcome to help with the event.
While the cookies are baking, children may trade their “special eggs” for small prizes.
Maple Grove is looking forward to you and your children being their guests at the Easter Egg Hunt and More held Saturday, April 8 beginning at 9:30 am followed by activities and snack. Easter Egg Hunt and More should be completed by about 10:30.Please note that all children need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
