Friends of the Library welcomes new members

Our community is fortunate to have one of the nicest libraries in the area. In addition to a beautiful building, we have many educational and entertaining programs that benefit all ages.

What many people may not know about is what has been called a “small but mighty” group that has added special benefits over the years.

The New Carlisle-Olive Township Friends of the Library has been around for many years, helping with activities and more importantly providing funds to enhance programs.

The Friends group provides prizes for both the summer and winter reading programs, designed to encourage children and adults to read more.

The Friends also pay the movie license fee and purchased a popcorn machine for movie nights. This is great family entertainment offered at no charge.

In 2016, the Friends provided staff appreciation gifts and also purchased New Prairie High School yearbooks for the History Room.

This year they will be sponsoring the Library’s 15th Anniversary Birthday Bash on March 25. All of this is funded by their semi-annual book sales.

The Friends of the Library would like to encourage more people to join, even if you only have an hour or two to assist with the sale.

The spring book sale will be Friday April 21 and Saturday, April 22, with set up at 1 pm on April 20 and clean up at 1 pm on April 23.

Come join us. Make a Friend!
