NPUSC welcomes new Director of Finance

New Prairie United School Corporation announces the hiring of James Holifield to be the Director of Finance for the school system.

Mr. Holifield has previously been the Business Manager at South Central (Union Mills) for the last 2.5 years. Prior to this experience, Mr. Holifield served as principal at New Prairie Middle School for twelve years, earning Indiana Middle School Principal of the Year in 2012.

Mr. Holifield also previously served as an Assistant Principal and Science teacher at New Prairie and North Judson Schools.

In addition to Mr. Holifield’s successful experience as Business Manager at South Central, he has completed 119 hours of training through the Indiana Association of School Business Officials towards certification as a School Business Officer.

Dr. Paul White, NPUSC Superintendent stated the following regarding the hiring, “we are very fortunate to have Mr. Holifield on our administrative team as Director of Finance. He brings strong experience overseeing not only corporation finances, but has gained experience with school construction, which will be valuable with our coming renovation projects.

Mr. Holifield brings experiences as both an educator and business manager that will be valuable to being successful in his new position with NPUSC.”

Mr. Holifield added, “I am very happy to be back at New Prairie in this new role and I am looking forward to giving my best effort to the New Prairie United School Corporation and to our community. Go Cougars!”

Mr. Holifield, a long time NPUSC resident, has four children, two of which are New Prairie graduates. His wife, Kim, is a science teacher at New Prairie High School.

The NPUSC School Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Mr. Holifield on a two year administrative contract at a special meeting January 11th.
