This recipe makes the winter a special time, besides whoever heard of snow in the summer?
CHERRIES IN THE SNOW
8 oz cream cheese 1 cup confectioner’s sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp almond flavoring 1 container Cool Whip or 1 pt. whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks 9 - inch baked pie shell 20 - oz can cherry pie filling
Cream together cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar, vanilla and almond extract.
Fold the whipping cream or the Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture.
Pour into the baked pie shell. Top with cherry pie filling and chill for 8 hours or overnight.
Etc. — This recipe can be used with angel food cake as well.
Cube the angel food cake and spread one-half in a glass bowl, topping with one-half of the cream cheese mixture (above) and top with remainder of the cubed angel food cake and then the remainder of the cream cheese mixture.
Top with the cherry pie filling. Note use light or sugar free pie filling, if possible.
This recipe is versatile - by using any fruit pie filling of your own choosing.
