Hometown Days Parade 2016

Robert Middlebrook, pictured with his wife, Carol, was honored as the Grand Marshal of the 2016 New Carlisle Hometown Days Parade.

New Carlisle is proud of our many citizens who do so much for our town. Robert Middlebrook is certainly one of those people and has received numerous honors for his efforts. He received the 2016 VFW National Firefighter of the Year Award. As a 43-year member of the New Carlisle Fire Department, he served as its Chief for eight years and held all other fire department offices over the years as well. He is currently serving as Captain of the NCFD.

In 2015, he received the highest distinction bestowed to a citizen––The Sagamore of the Wabash–– by Governor Mike Pence of Indiana. The award was presented in a special surprise ceremony in New Carlisle by Senator Jim Arnold.

In 2002, Middlebrook was honored as the Indiana Firefighter of the Year by the State of Indiana’s American Legion.

In another capacity, Middlebrook serves as a volunteer for CASA.

On October 8, 2016 Robert Middlebrook will be one of the Torchbearers for the upcoming Indiana Bicentennial. He will share that honor with Historic New Carlisle Director, Dana Groves.
