The 2016 Hometown Days Parade Sponsored by the New Carlisle Business & Community Association will make its way down Michigan Street on Saturday, July 30.
The Parade begins at 12:00pm EDT, and will originate from the Dollar General parking lot on the west side of town. The procession will make its way east, concluding in downtown New Carlisle.
This year's parade theme is "Happy 200th Birthday, Indiana" in celebration of the state's bicentennial. Bob Middlebrook, who will be one of the torch bearers this October in the statewide celebration, has been named the Grand Marshal of the parade.
Middlebrook is a longtime member of the New Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department, having served the community for over 40 years.
Recognition awards will be presented to units that are judged to be the best in the following categories: Best Themed (“Happy 200th Birthday, Indiana”), Most Entertaining, Most Creative and Judge’s Choice
