NPUSC welcomes new High School principal
New Prairie United School Corporation announces the hiring of Mrs. Jennifer Sass, current principal of Portage High School, to become the next principal of New Prairie High School effective July 20, 2016. Mrs. Sass comes to New Prairie High School with six years of successful high school administration experience, with all six years at Portage High School. Mrs. Sass served as Assistant Principal and Associate Principal for four years before becoming principal at Portage High School the last two years. Mrs. Sass previously taught language arts for twenty-three years in LaPorte Community Schools. Mrs. Sass was drawn to New Prairie High School for the strong community support and variety of strong programming. Mrs. Sass stated, “the strong, positive environment of NPUSC was evident when I walked in the door for my first interview. It felt like it was a great fit! I am very excited to work with the staff, students and community to build an even stronger NPHS. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of a great district.” Dr. Paul White, NPUSC Superintendent, stated about the hiring, “we are very excited to be hiring an administrator with the experience and proven track record of success that Mrs. Sass brings. Also, as a longtime LaPorte county resident she brings an instant understanding of our school and community culture. Mrs. Sass is an outstanding leader and an even better person, so we are very fortunate she has chosen to become a part of our administrative team.” Mrs. Sass was approved unanimously by the NPUSC School Board of Trustees July 6th and will begin her duties at New Prairie July 20th.
