Wolves 10, Cougars 7

VALPARAISO - The Cougars (1414) wrapped up the regular season with a wild, back and forth defeat to Boone Grove, 10-7, on Tuesday, May 24.

Boone Grove jumped out to a big six run lead in the second inning, chasing Cougars starter Dylan Kegley. None of the six runs allowed by Kegley were earned.

The Cougars committed seven errors in the game. However, New Prairie would not go quietly, answering with three runs in the third and four in the fourth to take a 7-6 lead.

Kadin Abegg threw three innings of hitless relief to preserve the lead until the bottom of the sixth inning. Boone Grove scored four in the sixth to reclaim the lead.

New Prairie went down in order in the seventh to end the ballgame. Garrett Ruiz went two for three with three RBI, including a two-run double which tied the game in the fourth
