Cougars 1, Jimmies 0

ELKHART - After receiving a bye in the sectional, New Prairie squared off with the Jimtown Jimmies in the semi-finals of Sectional 19 on Saturday, May 28. Despite Jimtown hosting the sectional, New Prairie was the home team in the game.

The game was a pitchers' duel, as neither team was able to crack the scoreboard for the first six innings. Kadin Abegg spun another gem for the Cougars.

Abegg scattered five hits and struck out eight in a complete game shutout. Bryce Bloode had the only two hits of the game for New Prairie. The first was a single in the second inning.

After Brad Kasinger walked to lead off the seventh, Bloode put one in the right center field gap for a walkoff double, scoring courtesy runner Mark Mayfield from first base and sending New Prairie to the title game
