Crump to play for Huntington University

Former New Prairie and LaPorte basketball player, Ren Crump has signed to play basketball for Huntington University.

Crump finished his high school career at East Noble High School in Kendallville, Indiana where he was named most outstanding player and helped the Knights to their first winning season in eight years. As a senior captain, Crump lead the team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and assists (3.6 apg) shooting 44% from behind the arc and 81% from the line. Crump also scored 20 or more points in ten games for the Knights.

As a Junior, Crump was nominated for IBCA player of the week after averaging 27 ppg over the final three regular season games. Crump was a KPC Media All Area selection and a second team All-NE8 Conference selection. Crump caught the attention of Huntington Coach, Ty Platt, after hitting all six of his 3pt shoots in a 25 point effort against Huntington North High School in January.

Huntington University is an NAIA division II school competing in the Crossroads League athletic conference.
