NEW CARLISLE- The Cougars continued their winning ways, extending their winning streak to five games, and improving to 12-12 on the season with an easy 10-0 victory over Knox on Monday, May 16.
New Prairie jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, winning the game via the 10-run rule after five innings.
Justin Cromey pitched the complete game shutout, allowing only two hits and striking out five.
At the plate, Bryce Bloode was three for three with two RBI. Bloode also hit a home run to left field in the third inning.
Mark Mayfield singled home Garrett Ruiz in the bottom of the fifth to clinch the victory.
New Prairie will wrap up the regular season with two non-conference games against Elkhart Memorial on the road (Friday, May 20) and Rochester at home (Monday, May 23).
