NEW CARLISLE- Despite scoring first, and hanging around for most of the ballgame, the Cougars fell 13-2 to Griffth on Thursday, April 28 in a game that was moved to Harry “Bear” Tolmen Field.
New Prairie led 2-0 after three innings. Dylan Kegley started the scoring with an RBI single in the first, and Bryce Bloode added one of his own in the third.
However, Griffith answered with six runs in the top of the fourth, chasing Cougars starter Justin Cromey after 3 and 1/3 innings work.
Mason Workman and Garrett Ruiz both worked in relief.
Griffith scored another run in the fifth to make it 7-2.
The game remained within reach until the seventh inning, when the Panthers added on six more runs for the 13-2 final score.
Cody Wilkins picked up the win on the mound for Griffth.
