Cougars 12, Tigers 2

NEW CARLISLE- After a nearly week-long weather hiatus, the Cougars returned to action on Monday, April 11 with a 12-2 run-rule victory over LaCrosse.

Originally scheduled as a road game, the game was moved to Harry “Bear” Tolmen Field due to poor field conditions at LaCrosse.

The Cougars led by a run after two innings, but eventually pulled away, scoring four in the third and five more in the fourth.

Needing just one run to end the game via the 10-run rule, New Prairie tacked on the final tally in the bottom of the fifth when Mason Workman scored on a wild pitch.

Ben McDonald doubled and tripled, while driving in three runs for the Cougars.

Bryce Bloode also had a pair of extra base hits, with doubles in the third and fourth innings.
