NP freshman competes in state gymnastics championship
Palmer had a total of 17 podium finishes this season (third place or higher) with four of those being first place finishes including a Regional Championship on Balance Beam.
Palmer advanced out of the sectional to the regional tournament with a third place all around finish and two second place event finishes. (Balance Beam & Uneven Bars)
Palmer is one of two freshman in the state of Indiana who advanced to the IHSAA state gymnastics championship as an individual gymnast.
Palmer competed her balance beam routine at the state competition on March 12th at Ball State University. She executed her routine extremely well earning a score of 9.2 which secured 16th place out of 45 total balance beam competitors in the state of Indiana.
Making it to state as a freshman was a huge accomplishment and a lifelong goal for Palmer. She had the time of her life!
As a result of her amazing season, Palmer has been named the 2015-2016 LaPorte Herald Argus & Michigan City News Dispatch Gymnast of the year.
